The Wotton Community PARC is moving ever closer to having a new BMX track built for use by the local community.
The new track will feature an original layout designed to challenge both beginners and more advanced riders and will sit alongside the popular skate park at the New Road site. The Wotton Community Sports Foundation has been actively fundraising to develop the new track this year. Thanks to generous donations from events including this summer’s Party in The PARC, the Wotton Secret Garden Trail and organisations such as HOTS and Renishaw it has now almost reached its target.
Sarah Watt from the Wotton Community Sports Foundation commented: “Thanks to the incredible generosity, time and effort of local individuals and organisations we are well on our way to our goal to fund the new BMX track. Are you a local organisation that may be able to help with the final parts of the funding plan? If so, we would love to hear from you. We are keen to have the new BMX facilities ready for everyone to use next summer at the PARC.”
The existing skate facilities have been connected to a safe footpath all the way from Wotton to the PARC providing a secure route for visitors to follow avoiding traffic on the main road. This will also provide access to the new BMX track next year.
